Deacon Leslie Dorrington the son of the late Deacon Joseph and Dorothy Dorrington. Deacon Dorrington received his education in Antigonish and Halifax. As an active member of the community and church in Beechville he was ordained as Deacon in 1972 at Beechville United Baptist Church. Deacon Dorrington has served the church for many dedicated years, serving as assistant organist, and currently as organist. Presently Deacon Dorrington dedicates his time to various church groups in his community, as President of the Men’s Brotherhood, Chairperson of the Deacon Board, Cemetery Committee, Trustee Board, member of the Beechville Church Centre committee and several other community groups.

Deacon Dorrington has also provided a musical ministry for over twenty-five years, taking part in various Christian Music groups, such as “The Shepherds” and “All God’s Children”. He has provided this ministry through many visits to nursing homes, shut-ins and various churches.

Deacon Dorrington is married to Helen and they have three daughters, Carolyn, Elaine & Deborah and two sons, Dennis and Paul. Deacon Dorrington is a faithful member of the Beechville United Baptist Church and Community. Always spending his time spreading the word of God and helping others.
