Mrs. Althea Tolliver

Mrs. Althea Tolliver the daughter of late Deacon Clifford Clayton and the late Edith Clayton. Born in East Preston, Mrs. Toliver attended school in her community and High school at Graham Creighton High, she then went on to Dalhouise University where she followed her dream to become a Social Worker.

Mrs. Tolliver is very involved in her community and church, serving in various positions on various committees and groups in her community of East Preston. She has served as Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Church Choirs, Baptist Youth Fellowship, Sunday School teacher, assistant Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Mary Preston Historical Society, Secretary of the Preston Area Board of Trade, Queen Lioness of The Preston and Area Lioness Club to name a few.

Mrs. Tolliver has dedicated many years of hard work in the welfare of others, she has worked as a Supervisor at the Nova Scotia Home for Colored Children and has produced there annual fundraising telethon for over 10 years. She is the founding member of the Black Youth Help Line at the Nova Scotia Home For Colored Children.

Mrs. Tolliver is married to James and they have two children.
